Education District II continued with its tradition of excellence, as its students, once again shone brilliantly at the Eko Schools Arts and Craft Competition organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
At this competition, students from three schools in Ikorodu that represented the Education District II, exhibited excellence in creativity at the competition. This outstanding performance once again underscores District II’s tradition of excellence and its commitment to producing well-rounded students who excel not only academically but also in creativity, innovation, and skill development.
Israel Tobi Adedoyin from Government Junior Model College, Owutu, Ikorodu, took the first position in the junior category, while Jubril Kolawole from Ikorodu Junior Grammar School clinched second position. In the senior category, Mariam Omolewa from Oriwu Senior Model College secured third place, showcasing creativity and artistic brilliance.

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layewo Sanni, warmly received the winners, their teachers, and Principals at the District Headquarters to celebrate their outstanding achievements.
He commended the students for their creativity and dedication, saying: “This event has showcased your talent and the efforts you have put into your work. I pray that God continues to crown your efforts with success. This remarkable achievement is only the beginning – you have not yet reached your zenith. Continue to put in more effort and keep soaring higher.”
He also appreciated their teachers and school administrators for their consistent guidance and mentorship, reaffirming the School District’s commitment to nurturing creativity and promoting excellence among students.

“You are appreciated for a job well done. God has crowned your efforts with the success recorded by these students. I urge you to continue nurturing them in the area of arts and crafts because it is a viable field that contributes to human development and the economic growth of our community,” the TG/PS remarked.
